Lift height does not tell you how much weight the spring must carry. Permanent accessories and cargo determine the rate the finished vehicle actually needs.
A bumper, winch, skid system, drawers, camper, tools, spare tire, and always-carried cargo can change ride height and ride quality. A spring chosen before those loads are known may sag, ride harshly, or sit outside the shock’s intended range.
List the weight that stays on the vehicle every day, separate it by front and rear axle, define the desired finished height, and choose the spring and shock package around that finished configuration.
